Mortar fails before brick does. Once joints soften and open up, water gets in, freezes, and pushes the brick apart. The repair is straightforward when it's caught early and expensive when it's not, which is why most of the calls we get start with "I noticed some bricks looking a bit loose."

Matching matters
A repair that's structurally fine but the wrong colour still looks like a patch. We match brick from GTA yards and reclaimed suppliers, mix mortar to the existing colour, and tool the joints to the same profile.
